Policies

We want everyone to enjoy their stay here at Mountain Lake Camping Resort. With that in mind, please read and follow the below guidelines. Any concerns you have with these guidelines or if you have any questions that you cannot find the answers to below, please call the office, and a staff member will assist you.

Check-In/Check-Out: Please plan your travels accordingly so you’re not disappointed if we can’t accommodate you for early or late arrival.  If you cannot check in during the designated times, please make arrangements to arrive the following morning.  So that other campers enjoy the quietness of the evening without having headlights and RV or tent site setup noises echo throughout the campground, we do not allow customers to check in after the office closes.

Cabin, Tipi, and Yurt check-in are between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM only. Check-out is by 10:00 AM.

Site check-in is between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Check-out is by 11:00 AM during Peak Season.

During our off-season dates (5/17/24-6/21/24 & 9/2/24-10/10/24), check-in time is by 6:00 PM.

EARLY CHECK-IN OR LATE CHECK-OUT FOR RV, TENT, AND TIPI CUSTOMERS – We do not have overflow RV parking. Therefore, please do not arrive early without prior approval and instructions from the office or we will have to turn you away until your site is ready. During Peak Season, the following early check-in fees apply: arrival between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM is $40.00 or arrival before 1:00 PM is $75.00. Late checkout has a fee of $40.00 and it allows you to use our facilities until 3:00 PM. During our Off-Season dates, early arrival is $40.00 and allows you to arrive between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Staying on the premises past 11:00 AM on your departure date, without prior office approval, is prohibited and can result in the termination of future reservations.

EARLY CHECK-IN OR LATE CHECK-OUT FOR CABIN AND YURT CUSTOMERS –  Please do not arrive early without prior approval and instructions from the office, or we will have to turn you away until your cabin or yurt is ready.  If we are able to accommodate an early check-in for you, a fee of $40 applies for arrivals between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM and a $75 fee for arrivals between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM.  Late check-out is $40 and allows you to stay and use our pool, lake, etc., until 2:00 PM; however, cabin and yurt customers must be fully out of the rental by 10:00 AM. Both late check-out and early check-in must have prior authorization from the office.

Please leave your cabin and site the way it was upon check-in, free of litter inside and outside.  Any extra cleaning will result in a $25 fee that will be charged to your credit card on file.   Cabin, yurt, and tipi rentals: A $100.00 charge will be placed on your credit card when you make your reservation and will be credited back to your credit card once management has inspected the cabin, yurt, or tipi for damages after you check out. Lost cabin, yurt or tipi key(s) will result in a fee of $10.00 per key.

Cancellations and Changes: Cancellations can be made via our online reservation portal or via phone. Changes to your site number or your arrival or departure date must be done via phone only.  If you cancel via phone, you must provide your reservation confirmation number at that time. We do not accept cancellations or changes via email. We cannot give refunds due to weather conditions, nor do we refund once you have checked in or for early departure.  If you need to change your current reservation dates or site number, do not make a new reservation online, or you will be charged a $35 fee if you use our online portal to cancel and make a new reservation with the new dates or site.

All reservations are subject to a $35.00 standard cancellation fee from the time of booking until the cancellation window closes, at which time the reservation becomes non-refundable and non-changeable.  Cancellations done at least 21 days prior to arrival date will receive a full refund minus the standard cancellation fee.  Cancellations done at least 14 days prior to arrival date will receive a 50% Mountain Lake credit of all monies paid to use towards another stay with us.  Cancellations done less than 14 days prior to arrival are non-refundable.  However, if we are able to re-rent your site to another family, we may be able to give you partial credit towards a future stay with us.

All date or site changes must be made at least 21 days prior to the arrival date.   We cannot move your dates to the following year.  Date or site changes made less than 21-day notice will be subjected to cancellation and loss of full or partial deposit, and then a new reservation will need to be made.

Your reservation will be canceled if you do not arrive on the first night of your reservation date. If you decide to arrive the following day instead, please call the office and let us know ahead of time.

Firewood & Campfires: The ONLY type of firewood we allow into the campground is Certified Kiln Dried Firewood. Even if you purchase wood within the state of NH, it does not make the wood free from invasive bugs that threaten the existence of our beautiful trees at our campground. For that reason alone, we only permit Certified Kiln Dried Firewood. Bringing any other wood into the campground will result in your reservation being canceled without a refund. All the wood that you bring in is checked by our staff. Please bring your receipt showing the purchase of your Certified Kiln Dried Firewood into the office upon check-in. We do sell Certified Kiln Dried Firewood in our camp store.

Fires need to be extinguished by midnight.

We are in an area with many trees and shrubs. Please keep your campfires low. Bonfire-type fires are not permitted at any time in any area of the campground. Fireworks and sparklers are prohibited in the park.

We try to keep our trees healthy and plentiful. Please do not break off branches from trees whether they appear dead or not. We sell fire starters in the store to help you start your fires easily.

Quiet Hours: Although we think listening to the wildlife, walking around in nature, and conversing with fellow campers offers plenty of entertainment, you may want to listen to music or watch an outdoor TV at your site. Please keep in mind that your neighbors may not want to listen in, so keep programming and volume appropriate so that it does not disturb neighboring campers and must be turned off by 10:30 when Quiet Hours begin.

Radios are a bit harder to keep low, so we ask that all radios are not played outside at any time of the day or night.

Our quiet hours are from 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM. Please limit sound and light to your own site during this time. This can be really hard for some individuals who are accustomed to a lot of ambient noise and light in the evening. In all seriousness, you may have to whisper to keep your voice quiet at night. We strictly enforce these hours so all campers can enjoy their stay.

Pets: There is no fee for bringing your pets with you. Proof of rabies vaccination is required. At any point that pet guidelines are not followed, management reserves the right to have you leave the premises and no refunds will be given.

After you make your reservation, you will receive a confirmation that contains a waiver. There will be an email address contained in that waiver that you will need to send the rabies information to prior to checking in.

Pets are not allowed in or at our yurt, or tipi sites nor any cabins that are not designated as pet friendly. Pets are not allowed in any buildings, at the playground, in the pool area, in restrooms, or at the beach.

Pets must be on a leash at all times while on the site and off. Children under the age of 13 years old are not allowed to walk dogs.

Dogs are not allowed to be left outside alone. Someone needs to be at the site with the pet at all times. Pets are not allowed to be crated and left in a tent nor are they allowed to be locked in an unoccupied vehicle for any length of time.

Please be considerate of other campers as well as those that are renting your site after you by cleaning up after your dog. If you do not clean up after your dog, you will be asked to leave the campground.  A cleaning fee will be charged if dog poop is found on your site after you have checked out.  If you do not have any bags to clean up after your dog, please see the office, and we will provide you with some.

If you are leaving for the day and not bringing your pet with you, please make sure your pet is inside your camper before you leave, and the proper temperature is available for him/her while you are gone.

Please make sure the office has your cell phone number in case we need to reach you due to an emergency. If your pet does not handle being alone well and will bark excessively while you are gone, please do not leave your dog behind.

If you are in one of our pet-friendly cabins, your pet is not allowed to be left inside or outside of the cabin unattended for any period of time.

Your visitors are NOT allowed to bring their pets to the campground.

Visitors: We are focused on the enjoyment of our facility by all of our registered campers. Some of our registered campers would like to have guests come and visit them during their stay. Our goal is to support this without impacting the experience of other campers. Keep in mind that only registered campers can use our facilities. If your friends or family members want to come swimming, join you for dinner or just relax with you for the day, please pre-register them at the office before they arrive.

All visitors MUST be registered by you ahead of time with payment of fees arranged and car passes obtained.  Unregistered visitors will NOT be permitted into the park.  Visitors are NOT allowed to bring pets during their visit.

If your visitor is just stopping by for a quick hello, the visitor fee still applies but will be reimbursed if less than a 30-minute visit. Please ask the office staff for details.
